First Look: SureFire P2X Fury with IntelliBeam Technology

surefire_P2X-Fury-Intellibeam-FSureFire has introduced an auto-adjusting version of its popular P2X Fury flashlight.

The new SureFire P2X Fury with IntelliBeam Technology represents the company's first-ever auto-adjusting flashlight. It features an intelligent sensor and microprocessor-based system that constantly evaluates surrounding light conditions to determine and adjust output as necessary, delivering the appropriate amount of light in any situation.

In addition to assessing light conditions, the P2X Fury with IntelliBeam also gauges other aspects of the environment such as distance. The flashlight evaluates the surrounding area before turning on, meaning it will choose a high setting in a wide open space or a lower setting in close quarters to help preserve dark-adapted vision.

The automatic mode on the P2X Fury with IntelliBeam is activated with a simple press or click of the tailcap switch. The user can override the automatic setting by returning the flashlight to off and pressing or clicking the tailcap switch within one second to activate the max-output mode. If left off for more than one second, the device defaults to the IntelliBeam automatic mode.

Like all Fury model flashlights, the new P2X Fury with IntelliBeam features a high-performance LED to deliver up to 600 lumens of light. It also features a precision parabolic reflector that shapes the light into a smooth, wide beam.

The P2X Fury with IntelliBeam sports a durable aerospace aluminum body that has been knurled to provide and comfortable but secure grip. The body has also been Mil-Spec hard anodized and O-ring sealed for even more resistance to abrasions and corrosion.

Powered by two 123A lithium batteries, the new P2X Fury with IntelliBeam has a runtime of 1.5 hours on high and 45 hours on low. The innovative new flashlight is available for $229.
