In Critical 2020 Vote, NSSF Gives Voters Necessary Tools to Cast Crucial Ballots

In all the years of America’s long and storied history, there have been few, if any, years like 2020. From the deadly COVID-19 pandemic to staggering job losses and a severely injured economy to violent unrest in our nation’s cities as social justice protests take place, this has been a year filled with tough headlines and difficult to watch stories almost every 24-hour news cycle.

As each day’s storylines have unfolded, it has never been more apparent that our nation's government representatives and the political process that produces such leadership is among the most powerful and integral parts of America's democracy. And yet every year, countless people fail to participate in the critical process of selecting our leaders as they exercise their blood-bought freedom to get out and vote, casting a ballot for the candidate of their choice.

This year, on Nov. 3, 2020, Americans will go to the polls during the coronavirus crisis to participate in one of the most critical votes of modern times as we select our next President, members of Congress, state leaders, county representatives, and local officials. At stake will be the leadership that will determine our nation's path through the coronavirus crisis, the recovery of our economy and jobs, the ability of our law enforcement agencies to enforce laws and protect our nation's citizens, and our course, preserving our nation’s sacred and constitutional 2nd Amendment right to own and bear firearms.

Whether it's a vote for the White House, for the next members of Congress, for the governor's house or state legislative body, to select a local or district judge, to determine a county's next sheriff, or to figure out who the next wave of municipal leaders will be, never forget that voting is a costly right guaranteed by the blood, sweat and tears of many patriots down through the years, a vital freedom and fundamental privilege to America's law abiding citizens and the democratic processes they enjoy.

Thanks to modern technology and resources like the National Shooting Sports Foundation's GunVote.org website, learning about political candidates and their positions on the day’s issues has never been easier. If you need to register to vote, want to know when registration deadlines are looming, to find out where local polling places are, how to cast an absentee ballot, or to learn about other pertinent information tied to your state's voting process, the GunVote.org site provides all of the necessary resources to be able to cast your vote this crucial year.

We live in perilous times where the fight for our nation's heart and soul has never been greater, times that challenge the very fabric and direction of what it means to be an American democracy and to be governed of and by the people. Whatever you do the rest of this year, get registered to vote and cast your 2020 ballot to preserve the democratic principles that our founding fathers put in motion so many years ago.
