With the expansion of right-to-carry laws across the country, gun owners are focusing on smaller, lighter pistols for personal protection.
A whole collection of new carry guns were released at the 2014 SHOT Show , with exciting offerings from several major brands. This year, .380 ACP pistols such as the Glock 42 and S&W Bodyguard were introduced, while the Springfield Armory XD-S 4.0" and Remington R51 made their debut to 9mm fans.
A couple of new revolvers chambered for .38 Special also stood out as prime candidates for concealed carry.

Glock 42 Tons of folks have been buzzing about the new
Glock 42 . While many wish it was a single-stack 9mm, the G42's .380 chambering makes it an ideal option for deep concealment.
Remington R51 The
Remington R51 is the modern version of Remington's original Model 51. The R51 uses a hammer-fired Pedersen action, and holds up to 7+1 rounds of 9mm +P ammo.
Ruger LCRx The
Ruger LCRx features an exposed hammer that allows it to be fired in either single- or double-action modes. The LCRx holds 5 rounds of .38 Special +P ammunition within its fluted stainless steel cylinder. It also features an aluminum monolithic frame and a polymer fire control housing.
SIG Sauer P320 SIG Sauer's new P320 is primarily a service pistol with rugged objectives in mind. The P320 is initially available in 9mm, .40 S&W, .357 SIG, and .45 ACP will be available later in 2014.
Smith & Wesson Bodyguard .380 Springfield XD-S 4.0 The
Springfield Armory XD-S 4.0" is the newest member to the XD-S line of pistols. The XD-S 4.0" is essentially the same exact pistol we have become familiar with in the XD-S 3.3", only the XD-S 4.0" features a 4-inch slide and barrel for a longer sight radius and greater accuracy.
Taurus View Revolver The new
Taurus five-shot View is quite possibly the lightest .38 Special available. The View is barely nine ounces, and it carries with ease. Based"http://www.taurususa.com/product-details.cfm?id=318&category=Pistol" target="_blank">Taurus Model 85, the View is a different approach to revolvers. It gets its name from the Lexan sideplate attached to the right side of the frame, which is the first noticeable difference when comparing the View with any other small-frame revolver.
CZ P09 FDE In the past year, we've become familiar with the all-purpose CZ P09 Duty. New for 2014, CZ USA introduces the
CZ P09 FDE .
The new P09 FDE is essentially the same pistol as the P09 Duty, except the P09 FDE comes with a Flat Dark Earth (FDE) frame and night sights. The FDE model is also available with a threaded barrel for suppressor attachment.
The CZ P09 FDE comes in both 9mm Luger and .40 S&W, and is available now for $510 to $596.
