It's no secret that people--law enforcement and civilian alike--have been killed or injured with their own guns, so a holster design that secures the gun against attackers yet allows instant access in an emergency is important.
To address this, Blade-Tech's designers came up with the Blade-Tech's WRS (Weapon Retention System) Holster. It has a spring-loaded hood that covers the rear of the slide, preventing the pistol from being drawn. The release lever frees the hood when pushed inward with the thumb during the draw--allowing it to rotate forward, under spring pressure, so the pistol can be drawn.
Reholstering is easy. Just rotate the hood upright until it clicks into place. I tested the unit at the range, doing speed drills and wearing it around to see how I liked it. No problems, no snags and the drawing action was natural. Just apply firm pressure toward your belt with your thumb when drawing and the hood flies out of the way.
