D&L Sports' replacement rear sight for S&W revolvers is a fixed unit that's easily installed.
I try to take a couple of deer or hogs with a revolver every year, and I often rely on a six-gun when tracking clients' wounded game. Usually, it's a Smith & Wesson 629 in .44 Magnum fitted with a Crimson Trace laser grip. However, the red laser isn't the best tool for daylight hunting. The revolver's issued sights work fine, but I like D&L Sports S&W sight a whole lot more.
The D&L sight is a rugged, fixed unit that replaces the existing S&W adjustable sight. It has a T-slotted bottom that slides right into a corresponding groove on the top of the frame, and it has three mounting screws: the adjustable front sight screw and the two scope mounting holes that are exposed when you remove the factory sight.

The D&L part is easy to install, blends seamlessly into the back of the frame and provides a brilliant sight picture courtesy of its serrated face and ample notch. I had to experiment with a couple of loads to find one that hit close, and eventually I had to file down the front sight to get it to hit dead-on with my favorite hunting load. It was a bit of work, but gaining a bomb-proof revolver sight that combines good looks with an even better sight picture made it more than worth the effort.
