Springfield Armory Launches the Echelon 4.0C Comp 9mm Pistol

GENESEO, ILL. (08/19/25) – Springfield Armory is proud to announce the release of the Echelon 4.0C Comp 9mm, an integrally compensated variant of the 4”-barreled compact Echelon 4.0C pistol. Engineered for carry like the 4.0C, the new Echelon 4.0C Comp carries on the duty-ready tradition of the full-size Echelon 4.5F, but with the addition of the integral compensator for enhanced control and performance.

The integral compensator featured on the 4.0C Comp is discreetly designed with a single port on the top of the hammer-forged slide and barrel. Redirecting gas upwards, it effectively reduces muzzle rise and enhances control. The result is a pistol that delivers faster and more accurate follow-up shots. In addition, the front sight is positioned behind the compensator for an uninterrupted sight picture.

At the heart of the fully ambidextrous Echelon 4.0C Comp lies the patent-pending Central Operating Group. Employing cutting-edge manufacturing techniques, it is made up of an entirely self-contained and serialized stainless steel chassis. The result is a system that is easily moved between available grip modules in seconds. The pistol comes standard with the small grip module and three interchangeable backstraps, while medium and large grip modules can be purchased separately.

Further adding to the pistol’s adaptability is its truly innovative Variable Interface System, which employs patent-pending self-locking pins that ensure consistent and reliable point of aim/point of impact. In addition, the pins can be positioned to fit the footprints of a wide range of popular optics, allowing for an unparalleled direct-mount fit. Complementing this system are U-Dot™ sights, with a U-notch rear sight and a tritium/luminescent front dot.

Magazine Options

The Echelon 4.0C Comp comes standard with two magazines—a flush-fit, 15-round magazine; and an extended, 18-round variant. Both magazines feature a scratch- and wear-resistant blacked-out coating for rugged durability and hard use. Additionally, the Echelon 4.0C Comp is offered in reduced-capacity 15- and 10-round models for restricted locales. MSRP for all variants is $749.
