GENESEO, ILL. (07/29/25)Springfield Armory is proud to announce the launch of the 1911 Operator AOS Threaded in .45 ACP. Available in Cerakote Coyote Brown, OD Green, Tungsten Gray or black, the new suppressor-ready pistols deliver the duty-grade features serious shooters demand.

The Operator family of pistols combines the timeless appeal of the proven single-stack 1911 pistol with the modern enhancements today’s shooters demand. These include a Picatinny accessory rail on the dustcover, tritium front sight, ambidextrous safety, base pad-equipped magazines and much more.

Featuring a forged carbon steel slide and frame for rugged durability, the newest Operator pistols employ forged 5.75” threaded stainless steel barrels with a low-profile black diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating. These extended barrels feature .578x28 threading for ease of mounting accessories, and come with a knurled thread protector.

In addition to the threaded barrel, the pistols also feature the Agency Optic System (AOS) for modern optics integration. Developed in collaboration with Agency Arms, AOS employs a series of machined billet steel plates with integrated rear sights that accommodate a wide range of the industry’s most popular red dot sightsfollowing the RMR, Shield, Delta Point Pro and Docter footprints. The pistols ship with a cover plate, and purchasers receive a discounted price on one AOS optic plate of their choice of just $49 — an $80 savings.

All four color options with the 1911 Operator AOS Threaded .45 ACP—Coyote Brown, OD Green, Tungsten Gray or black—are a Cerakote finish, an advanced formulation that virtually eliminates the need to oil the exterior for corrosion protection. This innovative coating not only enhances the durability and performance of firearms, but also offers significant benefits in terms of longevity and ease of care, making it an invaluable asset in the world of firearm technology.

“The 1911 Operator AOS Threaded .45 adds a new dimension of performance to the proven Operator line of pistols,” said Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing for Springfield Armory. “Add to that the option of your preferred Cerakote finish — in Coyote Brown, OD Green, Tungsten Gray or basic black—and you have a terrific range of options for any serious fan of the 1911 pistol.”

With an MSRP of 1,289 for all four variants, these new additions to the 1911 Operator line give 1911 enthusiasts a suppressor-ready and modern take on a proven classic handgun design.
