SHOT Show 2013 Handgun Reviews Semiauto

Introducing the Kahr CW380

by Handguns Online Staff   |  January 24th, 2013 1

Kahr Arms introduced its brand new .380 pistol at the 2013 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, rolling out the Kahr CW380. The CW380 is a smaller version of the Kahr P380, featuring a 2.58-inch barrel, at a more competitive price, yet includes all the features of a Kahr Arms pistol. The CW380 features a conventional rifled barrel with integral rails mounted on the pistol’s polymer frame, a slide that locks after the last round—a feature missing on many value-priced .380 pistols—and a drift adjustable white bar-dot combat rear sight and a pinned-in polymer front sight. Available in February-March, the CW380 will ship with one six-round magazine and will retail for $417. Check out the video from SHOT Show.

According to the CW380 is 0.050 longer barrel, .060 longer O/L, and 0.030 oz. heavier than the P380. all other dimensions are the same so I think it would be inaccurate to call it the "smaller" version. Its been my understanding that the CW series is a slightly less "finished" line of Kahr handgun compared to say the P or smaller PM line. Its very exciting that Kahr has brought to market a CW chambered in .380 acp as one of the primary reasons I purchased the LCP over the P380 was the $200 difference in price. The trigger on the P380 is silk and the overall feel is great for a small carry pistol. The Ruger LCP is a fine little gun, but at that price, I can see the CW380 give it a serious run for its money.
