image006Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc., is hosting a series of online auctions to raise funds for the Light Foundation, a non-profit organization that gives at-risk kids a better chance at leading healthy lives by using the great outdoors to learn and grow.

The company is auctioning off an assortment of rare firearms over the course of about six months. All auction items are available to qualified buyers as part of a “no reserve” auction subject to applicable laws.

The online auctions began on March 19, 2014, but they will continue until Sept. 23, 2014. Individual firearms will be announced for auction every Wednesday and will remain up for bid for two weeks. Ruger has a site set up for the auction which lists current firearms available for bids.

“Ruger has been a longtime partner of the Light Foundation, and their commitment to our mission has enabled us to fund programs and services for at-risk youth in need of mentoring and guidance,” said Matt Light, founder of the Light Foundation and former offensive tackle for the New England Patriots. “These weekly auctions provide a great way for gun enthusiasts or active owners to bid on specialty firearms while supporting a great cause.  We’re very grateful for this opportunity.”

In addition to the selection of firearms up for bid, Light will include signed memorabilia such as jerseys, hats and more with auction items.

More information on the auction will be provided as it is released.
