Sometimes you want a little illumination, sometimes you want a lot, and that makes dual-output lights such as the new SureFire 6PX Pro a good choice for neck indexing and other techniques. The light is part of a new, less-expensive X series of lights: two single-power Tactical models and two dual-power Pro models.
The 6PX Pro I’ve been playing with features a hard-anodized aluminum body and a tail-cap switch that gives you the choice of a low output of 15 lumens (one press of the switch) or a max output of 200 lumens (two presses) from its high-efficiency LED.
By adjusting the tailcap you can operate the light in momentary or constant-on modes. With a little practice, you can get really good at going from low to high, so you can, for example, navigate on low and then blast the corners of a room you’re searching with maximum light.
The beam is nice and wide, thanks to its poly-carbonate reflector. And perhaps best of all, suggested retail is just $79. ww.SureFire.com
