Daryl, a member of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, has been a competitive shooter since 1979 and has been a member of the unit since completing his basic and infantry training in 1991. He’s captured several medals at recent Pan American games--a free pistol gold in 2003 and a free pistol silver in 2007--and was the national air pistol champion in 2005. Daryl competed in both the 2000 and 2004 Olympics. In the 2000 Games he finished 25th in free pistol, and in 2004 he doubled up--placing 13th in air pistol and 15 in free pistol. Earlier this year he captured a bronze medal at the Beijing World Cup; he earned his spot on the Olympic team with a second-place finish at the trials.
