Beki learned to shoot at 12, thanks to her father, and now she’s representing the United States in not one but two events in Beijing--the only women’s pistol shooter to do so at this Games. But for Beki it’s not a unique occurrence: She was a two-sport athlete in two prior Olympics: 2000 (ninth in sport pistol and 25th in air pistol) and 2004 (22nd in sport pistol and 19th in air pistol). She was also a U.S. team member at the 1996 Games, where she finished in 30th place in air pistol. This year she’s coming gold medals in both events at the Olympic team trials.
